| The idea that there are more of us using the "JWT" is a little misleading. They were one of the first out the gate with this type of modification, but its important to point out that they havent pursued further R&D with the Z32 in about 15 years. Outside of Nistune everyone uses the same socket on the ECU to provide the use of an "aftermarket", flashed chip. That said, there are a number of tuners that can provide this chip (average cost around $50). You can experiment with several different chips as I did, until you eventually get the car custom tuned. The coolest thing about our cars are these plug-n-play generic chips that tie all our mods together. The most important thing to know that in using these "generic" chips, no one wants to send you a chip that will grenade your engine. Be carful of anyone sending you an "aggressive" chip. These generic chips will always and SHOULD be a safe tune to the rich side but will never exploit the full potential of your Z. What I've noticed as standard opporating procedure with our comunity of tuners, is that they all keep a copy of every custome tune on file. This provides them with a larger data base to work with and helps them acheive a higher performance "all-around, safe chip" So the question is: Who has performed the most tuning, and has access to the most filed maps? FWIW, given that you already have an Ashpec and a JWT chip, I'd call SZ, Z1 and Hary @ Ztunerz and get a chip from each of them and play around with them. It would be very interesting to hear your feedback on this. Or just get a custom tune and be done with it.......just sayin.
